I LOVE SHEPHERDS TOO~~13!#!# can i help run the blog??/
no. (you can submit shepherds to help, though!!)

are any of the shepherds you post yours?
no, i’m afraid not. you can read more about my run with shepherds at the end of this.

do you like to get questions/asks/compliments/suggestions/referrals/bitching on fuckyeahgermanshepherds??
questions, asks, suggestions and everything else are dandy (and compliments are appreciated). i do not mind answering, reading or replying to asks. it gives me something to do. (dog-related is obviously preferred.)

can i submit my shepherd/bear/unicorn/doberman hybrid dog?
submissions of any shepherd mixes are welcome, fuckyeahgermanshepherds does not discriminate.

do you post ALL your shepherd submissions?
yes. sometimes they are queued though so occasionally it may take a day or so for it to actually post.

are you (fib) the one to decide, edit and deal with FYGS’ layout? i mean, do you do everything for this blog?
yes.

do you (fib) always answer FYGS’s asks? do you write the captions?
i try and i usually am the one to answer the asks (“—fib”). any text underneath a post on FYGS is generally not something i’ve written, though. if it is actually written by fib (me), it will state it’s written by fib (me) with the “—fib” nonsense.

where did you get FYGS’ avatar? can you post a large version?
i honestly do not remember where the avatar came from and i can’t seem to find it again in order to share. i apologize.

do you (fib) have shepherds? what is your dog life like and your experience with them? are they your favorite dog breed? other animals?
warning: this is lengthy although i did condense it the best i could~
— i was born into a family (note: my family only consists of two people, one being me) that already had pure bred german shepherds, so i was basically raised with them.. in total, however, i have only had three shepherds. one was a 130lb normal lookin’ saddleback male who passed away at thirteen, one was an all black female who has also passed away — these two were both “family dogs”. i have also had two female mutts: a chow/lab mix and a cocker spaniel/lab mix who were also both “family dogs” and also now deceased (one passed away at thirteen, one had to be put down from cushing’s disease at ~6). now, the third, most recent shepherd and the german shepherd that was truly all mine and considered my “first dog” (and who was my absolute baby) was a black and tan female who recently passed away in november 2010 due to her no longer responding to her cancer treatments. up until the cancer, she was always healthy. her cancer progression happened in a month period: she got sick, it was determined she had cancer, she responded for a couple weeks and in the end my normally 80lb shepherd was 65lbs and i knew it was time. i had to put her down — yes, i stayed through the entire ordeal. i know some people choose to leave after the first drug.. but i would never do that, ever; i once read a post that said “they look for you when you’re gone” that absolutely broke my heart. so, yes, i was there when she was finally gone. (she always hated the vet until the end, by the way.) she was only eight, almost nine and her birthday would have been february 22. i trained her myself and she was a very smart dog — she knew hand signals, etc.. she was extremely go-go-go (she’d have run and swam until she died, if one didn’t stop her! and no one ever thought she was more than a puppy), always had to be right by you and loved tennis balls. loyal to the end, she’d die for you. i once impressed some animal planet folk with her and she also had the experience of visiting crater lake — i’m sure not all dogs get to do this in their life! it will take me awhile to recover from losing her (and since i’m in college it’s probably best i wait for to get another dog anyway) therefore it will be awhile before i get another german shepherd. i’m currently dog-less for the first time in my life and it is EXTREMELY difficult. i miss my dog beyond words. so, for now, i run this blog.
— as for knowledge of shepherds, i have an extensive amount. regarding training shepherds and dogs in general, yes, i am fully capable and do have my own methods. i was never taught how to train animals, i just “have the touch” and understand/study animal behavior.
— german shepherds are indeed my absolute favorite pure bred dogs. my second favorite is a tie between tamaskans and borzois. big dogs over small dogs! i also adore mutts.
— i currently have two cats [female turkish angora, male birman (rescued)], an axolotl [leucistic], fish (i am a fish hobbyist). i participate in (mostly english) horse riding and with horses. i have owned dogs, cats, chinchillas, rabbits, birds (cockatiels), rats, gerbils, lizards, amphibians, chickens and other fowl, etc. they all lived nice, long, healthy-as-possible lives. i volunteer at wildlife rehabilitation centers so i have experience with wild critters as well (foxes, raccoons, birds of prey, bobcats, etc).
